June gloom is over
Week 7 was nothing less than an amazing week in the beautiful city of San Diego. This week I worked a lot! Which has been really great :) but it also puts me a little behind on blogging so I do apologize for the delay in keeping you all up to date!
Like I said, this has been a busy work week for me. I work from 8:45 to 4 everyday unless I'm sharing on campus. So I come home, shower, eat and then head off to our project activities - so it's been nonstop! But a good kind of nonstop. On Tuesday the 8th we had a prayer and worship night that was put together by the prayer team. We went to tower 19 where we usually gather together at Mission Beach because it's the tower right up the block from where we live. So we did 15 minutes of prayer and 15 minutes of worship, and we did this rotation 4 times. During prayer, we would pray for things such as sex trafficking, homeless, poverty, hunger and starvation, missions, campus, etc. People would stop along the boardwalk and watch what we were doing, some were evening joining in! It was so great. The Lord's presence was definitely there that night. How could you not? You're in the view of the huge scandalous pacific ocean during sunset, worshiping Him with 100+ college students. It was a night to remember.
At work I got to sail a catamaran by myself this week... IT WAS TERRIFYING. This desert girl does not know how to do this stuff!!!! (Hahahaha) But I'm learning. And it's really cool to be able to do this stuff while I'm here, it's been more than a blessing. It was so scaring sailing on my own knowing that I have 10 children on the boat who's lives I am accountable of! Yikes. But it was really fun and challenged me to be a better counselor. Sometimes being out there makes me think how fun it would be to be a pirate..... I must be a Disney fan (HAHA).
FNL (Friday Night Live) was great this week! Chloe, one of the girls on project who also happens to be one of my 11 roommates shared her testimony and she did a wonderful job! We've had a lot of people from the community, work and school show up so it's been really awesome to see our group get larger and larger :) The Lord has been working in the hearts of these people and it's just the start! For "afters" we watched Tarzan on the bay on a projector. Which is way bigger than a flat screen so we're pretty lucky!! ;D It was so fun.
Gosh, well, this week's blog was short and sweet. Project is coming to an end so I'm sure I'll have more to share in the near future. I just want to thank you again to everyone who has supported me and/or kept me in your prayers since I've been here. They mean the world to me and very much needed. Trusting The Lord in the midst of raising support has been SO extremely hard, but also rewarding. He has really shown Himself to me through people who have given to support my project, but I am still short about 800 dollars. I'll continue to seek Him and trust that He will come through. But I do find so much peace in knowing that this place, being here with these people, is exactly where I'm supposed to be. He wants me here.
I hope you all are having a wonderful summer! Get out there and enjoy the sun with a glass of ice cold lemonade in your hand :)
In Christ,
Priscilla
