22 days later!!
I can't believe we are already 22 days into project!!! Like WUT... That's so crazy to me! Makes me sad how fast time moves here because we only get closer to the end. BUT it makes me so grateful everyday that I'm here and not to take for granted the memories made, friendships bloomed and so much more.
Well I'm so sorry that I'm a few days late! I'll get right to it, it's been such an exciting week so I've been anxious to share with you what's been going on!!
For starters I would love to thank you all who lifted me up in prayer during my job search. The Lord heard your prayers and provided a job for me!!!!! WHOOOOO! I got a job at PacSun at Mission Valley Mall! So extremely thankful and overwhelmed by God's grace in this situation. We were just a few days away from ending our job hunt and would be doing volunteer work the rest of the summer. He really stretched me and challenged me to really rely on Him. So, needless to say, I'm very excited to start next week! :) Once again, thank you for your prayers.
Friday Night Live (FNL) was great this last week! Brady, one of the men on staff, shared his testimony and it was amazing! And so many people that were invited showed up! It was great to see the group getting bigger and knowing how much God has already done through the co-workers and friends we've made on the beach and in the community. "Afters" is something we do after FNL that just gives us all an opportunity to hang out and have fun and every week is a different activity. Our first "afters" we had a cereal party, so we all hung out and ate all the different options of cereal given to us. This last week we had a dance party! It was a blast! We all danced the night away and ended our wonderful evening watching the fireworks on the bay that go off every night.
Sunday was also great! We all separated into the different churches we've been assigned to join over the summer and had got spiritually fed from our pastor. I attend Horizon Coast church just a 2 minute walk from the bay where I live, so that's nice!! Then after, my discipler and I, and 2 other girls, Kendra and Laura drove to La Jolla for some lunch. We at one of the cutest places I've ever been!!! It's called Brick and Bell Cafe. It's so quaint and homey, I wanted to stay there forever. Not to mention the food was absolutely delicious and I was with some of the most amazing women you could ever meet. It's safe to say The Lord has been so good to me since I've been here!
God's been working through my heart lately on some things, it's challenging and hard but I've really surrendered a lot of things I wanted to take control of. He's still working in me and I just can't help but fall in love all over again each day. It's been quite a journey with The Lord, but the most rewarding and fulfilling one.
This has also been an emotional week and it's going by so fast. This is the last full week we have with the staff, student-staff and trainers before they leave it all in the hands of us to run project. So we have really been savoring up all the last moments we have with them before they leave... Just one week from today. They've been so good to us, they poured the word in our hearts and challenged us every day to be leaders and servants of God. So this week will be bitter sweet and time well spent for sure!
One last thing before I leave you all until next week. I'm at 1,100 dollars of my 3,200 support goal. This is one particular place The Lord is really challenging me to rely on Him for provision. But naturally, I still worry. But I know that I know that He wants me here and I'm meant to be here. If you haven't thought about supporting me yet this summer, I just ask that you do pray about it. Would you be willing to give a gift to support my project? If you feel led to do so, you can donate directly to me on the home page.
This upcoming week is filled with lots of exciting events so I can't wait to update you next week on what's coming up! I hope you all are having a wonderful summer, those of you who work, in summer school, laying by the pool or traveling with the family, may the Lord bless you and make His face to shine upon you. Love you!!! Xoxo
