Hey there,
Well we have accomplished the second week of project!! We've had some pretty exhausting, long days but also very fruitful and rewarding. Me, along with a small group of people are still on the lookout for jobs. Pretty much everyday that the other project students are working - we spend the day around Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and the San Diego area looking for jobs and filling out applications. It's been a very tiring and pretty discouraging process... But I have hope that God's plan is better than mine so I put my trust in that. I have a job interview this Wednesday at San Diego Zoo, so please pray with me that the interview goes well! And I also have a job interview the next day at PacSun. This is also our last week to job hunt so the few of us really have to push it this week to find one because once the week is over we can no longer job hunt and will be given opportunities to do volunteer work. So even though my head is filled with worried and discouraging thoughts, my heart and my God tells me that He will provide for me and provide wonderful opportunities. Just like He already has, so once again I do ask if you could please be in prayer with me that I would get a job this week - I would greatly appreciate it!!
I also got to really enjoy the beach for the first time on Saturday! It was so nice to just hang out, listen to music with my girls and have some great fellowship enjoying that I actually have a beach as my front yard. It's so beautiful. This city has quickly stolen my heart, and even the people! I'll tell ya one thing about California - life here moves SO fast. It's so hard to keep up sometimes! But it's not so much a bad thing, I've grown to like it.
We also went sharing for our first time to our selected universities! The whole project splits up into two groups - one Monday and the other on Tuesday and we go to the different campuses in the area to share the gospel and get to know the students that are here around us. My group went to SDSU, one of the most beautiful places I've been!! My discipler and I paired up and talked to a few different girls and had some really great conversations. Chong, Lihn and Heidi. All unbelievers but were wanting to know more about or faith and wanting something to believe in. So if you could be lifting them up in prayer too, that would be awesome! Especially that they would be willing to come to any of our events!
On Thursday evening we all drove to Mt. Soledad to pray and have worship on the top of the mountain. It was the most beautiful view of the city I've ever seen. We all spent the entire evening praying over the city, our schools/home, jobs and work opportunities and relationships that will be made, and so much more. Then we all worshiped together with the city lights as glistening under the black sky just gave me a wonderful picture of how small we are and how BIG God is. God has already begun to move here and I'm so blessed to be a part of it.
He has already challenged me in so many ways, stepping out of my comfort zone and sharpening me. Also, some very exciting news to share with you is that someone that I don't even know personally has donated 500 dollars to my support!! GOD IS GOOD. I still have a long ways away from reaching my support goal but God is providing. Slowly but surely :)
Well tomorrow we kick off another early morning to start job hunting and what not. And I also don't want to bore my readers! Thank you so much to all of you who prayerfully and financially support my mission here and all that God is doing, will do and has already begun to do. Hope you all have a wonderful week!
In Christ,
Priscilla
